When I was a little girl I was raised in a church that encouraged us to go out and evangelize to the world that we were all "sinners", and unless we confessed a "sinner's prayer" we were all going to hell for eternity. Very common phrases were taught such as: "we are sinners saved by grace", "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God", "If you were to die tomorrow do you know where you would go?"

I have found that many times our attitude as Christians is separation from those that don't know Jesus Christ. We tend to lift ourselves up as one that is special or favored to God.

Have you ever wondered why it was ok for Jesus to talk to the dead and raise them up, but it was not ok for a woman in 1 Samuel 28? I have been told all my life that we don't talk to dead people. When someone dies we are not suppose to go around talking to them or try to bring them back into our life. As I was listening to the Christmas Carol "Joy to the World", I found myself questioning what the words of this song were really saying and who wrote it. I searched the web and found that Isaac Watts who lived from 1674-1748 wrote it.The focus of Mr. Watts' writings was to take the Psalms of the Old Testament and bring out the New Testament in them.
