The Words Everlasting and Eternal

Throughout the New Testament, the words "eternal" and "everlasting" are the same Greek word "Aionios" found in the Strong's Concordance as number 166. It means belonging to the time in its duration. Our true God identity, which is constant and abiding within us, not affected by the limitations of time. It is age to age: age abiding life in the midst of time. Eternal (166) belongs to the age or time (165) in its duration. "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High" (Psalm 82:6).

"For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; you are God's garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [you are] God's building" (1 Cor. 3:9 AMP). Paul was writing this to Corinth explaining who they were today, not someday when they die to go to heaven.

 "When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You. [Just as] You have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all humankind), [now glorify Him] so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent" (John 17:1-3 AMP).

When we understand that our eternal life is our inheritance available NOW, while in our flesh, and not something we obtain when we die, we are challenged with many doctrine teachings that have held us in bondage keeping us from the fullness of TRUTH within us: Christ in you (Col. 1:27).  

"That I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law's demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith. [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power out flowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body]" (Phil. 3:9-11 AMP).

So why are we not living our lives today as the abundant, eternal, everlasting life of Christ Jesus today while in our natural body?

This "eternal, everlasting" life is found in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that gave his begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him not perish, but have everlasting life" (The words "he," "only," and "should" are not in the original. These words were added in the translations of history).

We see in this verse "everlasting life" for a believer, but what does this really mean? The word "life" is the Greek word "Zoë" (#2222 in the Strong's) meaning "spirit life." We are told in this verse that believing in Jesus Christ allows us access to not perishing. So what does "perish" mean? This is the Greek word "apollumi" (Strong's number #622). It is connected throughout the Scriptures with "the destroyer, the antichrist."

Believers in Christ Jesus have been in bondage with an antichrist spirit (doctrines, traditions) bringing "strange fires" to the throne of God; the mercy seat or bridal chamber of "knowing" our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

"He who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life" (John 3:36 AMP).    

To experience "eternal, everlasting" spirit-filled (Zoë life), a person must:

·         Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that Jesus came to show us our Heavenly Father which makes us a child of God. This is the Gospel of Salvation which allows the anointing of Christ Jesus to be poured upon us. (Outer court of the OT Temple of God).

·         From this position we grow up in our Christ (anointed) identity allowing the anointing to be smeared and pressed into our bodies so that we can be transformed into His image. (Middle court of the OT Temple of God).

·         Zoë life, eternal life is an inner court experience being with Jesus Christ in an intimate position as His beloved bride. Zoë life (#2222) is the highest and best which Christ is and which he desires to give to us as a husband impregnates his bride with the seed of His identity: THE WORD.

The greatest enemy of God is the mindset of those that are in a position to share Zoë life, but instead, use the Father's identity, THE WORD, and calling themselves "Christ One's" to bring judgment and condemnation to whom God has said is in every way clean (Acts. 10:15). "Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven" (Matt. 18:10).

John shares with us in his letters that Zoë life is a reality for us today. He shows us there are different growth and developments of being in Christ: children, sons, and fathers. In 1 John 1:1-5, he writes:

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all"

Now, let us re-read these Scriptures removing the words that were not in the original, and writing it in continuation as John wrote:

"Which was from beginning which heard which seen our eyes, which looked upon and our hands handled of the Word life (Zoë); for the life manifested and seen and witness and show you eternal life (Zoë) which was with the Father and manifested us which seen and heard declare you that you also have fellowship with us and truly our fellowship with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ and these things write you that your joy be full. This then is the messages which heard of him, and declare you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."

Many believers in Christ Jesus must pass through being destroyed or perished (#622 in John 3:16) because they would rather live in the temporary realm of carnality instead of entering into their inheritance of Zoë life today. However, there is also a company of believers in Christ Jesus who stand with Paul to know (intercourse relationship, covenant exchange) the power of His resurrection while in the natural body.

"Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed). For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us, this nature that is capable of dying] must put on immortality (freedom from death). And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished forever) in and unto victory" (1 Cor. 15:51-54 AMP).

"I, Jesus, have sent My messenger (angel) to you to witness and to give you assurance of these things for the churches (assemblies). I am the Root (the Source) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and brilliant Morning Star, The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come! And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of Life (Zoë) without cost. I [personally solemnly] warn everyone who listens to the statements of the prophecy [the predictions and the consolations and admonitions pertaining to them] in this book: If anyone shall add anything to them, God will add and lay upon him the plagues (the afflictions and the calamities) that are recorded and described in this book. And if anyone cancels or takes away from the statements of the book of this prophecy [these predictions relating to Christ's kingdom and its speedy triumph, together with the consolations and admonitions or warnings pertaining to them], God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life (Zoë) and in the city of holiness (purity and hallowedness), which are described and promised in this book" (Rev. 22:16-19 AMP).

Jesus said, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, 21nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:20-21 NIV).

1 John 4:6
"We are of God: he that knoweth God (identify carrying the life of Christ in us as the wife) heareth us (out of our mouth flows rivers of living water); he that is not of God (has not experienced the intimacy of knowing Jesus Christ as the groom) heareth not us (can not be impregnated to bringing forth the fruit of the anointed word). Hereby know we the Spirit (Zoë) of truth (Christ identity in us), and the spirit (bio #979) of error (carnality of religion and self)," that has been intertwined to justify the bondage and limitations of Christ in you, the hope of glory.

God's pattern was never for children to produce children. It takes a bride married to the Lamb and consummating the marriage for the body of Christ to become the Word made flesh going forth and reproducing as God created man in His image, male and female He created them calling them ADAM. Selah. (Gen. 1:26, Gen. 5:1-2).

If there is no heaven, Christianity is folly: if there is no hell, a Christian is a lunatic, for Christ is a liar: but as Christ is true, then there is a heaven and also a hell, and a million souls a week are rushing to hell, and therefore a Christian must be a heartless and selfish horror if his whole life is not thrown away ''to save men from hell,'' for that is what it means to follow Jesus.
